A village of Writtle lies within Essex, England, just to the west of Chelmsford.

Known as in the Domesday Book, the village as well boasts the places of a mediƦval royal hunting lodge. It has the traditional village green, complete sustaining duck pool, & the church which dates back to Norman times. There, Robert the Bruce married his second married woman Elizabeth de Burgh in 1302.
